Tell It to the Judge (Alternate Version) (J.Worth/P.DiPuccio)
We cut this lyric three different ways over the years. This is version two. The careening first one, from back in 1979, is included on the "Teenage News" CD. The third, from the 1987 Ultraviolets sessions, is on "Groovy Dynamite Heavy Wow."  We used to open live sets with this version in '85 and '86.

Recorded and Mixed by Michael Carnevale at Rock Steady Studios, November, 1985.  Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Spyder Mittleman: Saxophone, Paul Hilton: Bass, Ed Cirino: Drums.

Reckless Hearts (Alternate Version) (J.Worth/P.DiPuccio)
We also recut this one in the Ultraviolets sessions. This early take was done the same week we wrote it.

Recorded  by Tom Nellen and Michael Carnevale at Clover Studios and Rock Steady, November, 1985.  Mixed by Michael Carnevale.  Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar and harmonica, Christian Super: Keyboards, Paul Hilton: Bass, Ed Cirino: Drums.

You Beat Me to the Punch (Live in the Studio) (Robinson/White)
This Motown standard was recorded as a warm-up in a session arranged to produce a B Side for "Kicking Up A Fuss."  That instrumental  B Side "On Target" (available on "Teenage News") was given a late night dub-style mix after we took a studio break to go see The Clash at the Roxy Theatre.

Recorded and Mixed by Winter Lazerus at One Step Up, April, 1980. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Bruce Nicholson: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Don Walton: Bass, Arthur  Arroyo: Drums.

Kicking Up a Fuss (Demo Version) (J.Worth/B.Nicholson)
Written and demoed for the film "Up the Academy." They liked it.

Recorded and Mixed by Winter Lazerus at One Step Up, January, 1980. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Bruce Nicholson; Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Don Walton: Bass, Arthur  Arroyo: Drums.

Joie De Vivre (Live Broadcast '79) (J.Worth/P.DiPuccio)
This one never did get recorded in the studio. The tape's a bit garbled, but here for posterity.

Recorded live at Gazzarri's for KLA-FM Radio by Tom Weir, September 27, 1979. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio:  Guitar, Bruce Nicholson: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, David Harrington: Bass, Arthur Arroyo: Drums .

Matter of Fact (Live '85) (J.Worth/P.DiPuccio/B.Gadbois)
From Spyder Mittleman's debut gig with us. Also featured on the Official Bootleg "Jackie Gross Says..." Jackie was Spyder's stand-up comic alter-ago. His catch phrase was "blow me." It never got old.

Recorded live from the soundboard at Club Lingerie, August 24, 1985. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Spyder Mittleman: Saxophone, Paul Hilton: Bass, Ed Cirino: Drums.

You're All I Want (Rehearsal '80) (J.Worth/B.Nicholson)
An impromptu version of an early Top Cat opus the band would pull out every once in a while live.

Boombox rehearsal recording at Fortress Studios, September, 1980. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Bruce Nicholson: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Don Walton: Bass, Arthur Arroyo: Drums.

When You Call Out My Name (Rehearsal '86)  (J. Worth/P.DiPuccio)
A very groovy song we never quite finished up the lyric for back in the day.

Boombox rehearsal recording at Overland Studios, July, 1986. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Greg Oakland: Bass, Ed Cirino: Drums.

Downtown (Live w/Steve Hunter '83) (J.Thunders/D.Johansen)
Aside from producing and playing with us in the studio, the great Steve Hunter  joined the side live on a few occasions. This Chicago blues via the Lower East Side was the first missive of a three song encore featuring the Decatur Deacon, which included "There's A War Going On" and the Velvets' "Rock & Roll."

Recorded live at Madame Wong's West, April 2,  1983. Jody Worth: Vocals, Pat DiPuccio: Guitar, Steve Hunter: Guitar, Christian Super: Keyboards, Greg Oakland: Bass, Steve Polto: Drums.
